Day 2 (Wednesday, 27 May)
Breakfast will be served at 9am in the main dining room. After breakfast, we journey to the charming village of Aubusson, renowned for its centuries-old tradition of tapestry and carpet weaving. Our visit begins at the Manufacture Four, where you'll discover the fascinating history of tapestry making and witness the intricate weaving process firsthand. We then enjoy lunch at one of the delightful restaurants along the scenic banks of the River Creuse. In the afternoon, we explore the newly renovated Cité Internationale de la Tapisserie, home to an exceptional collection of both historical and contemporary tapestries. After our visit, there will be time to wander through the village's picturesque streets before we return to La Creuzette. This evening we have a cooking session in the summerhouse kitchen. Dinner will be enjoyed in the summerhouse dining room around a beautifully set table

Day 3 (Thursday, 28 May)
Today is market day in the village of Boussac. After a leisurely breakfast, we stroll through the vibrant market, where stalls overflow with fresh, seasonal produce and regional artisanal goods. Take your time to browse the local offerings, enjoy the lively atmosphere, and explore the charming village boutiques at your own pace. We reconvene at La Creuzette for a delightful harvest table lunch, served al fresco at the long stone table in front of the summer kitchen. In the afternoon, we will go on a visit to the 11th-century Château de Boussac. This privately owned castle boasts an extraordinary collection of ancient tapestries and historic artifacts, offering a glimpse into the region’s rich past. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to spend as you wish, relax in the garden, unwind with a book, or simply soak in the peaceful surroundings of La Creuzette. This evening, we’ll gather for a hands-on cooking session with a French guest chef, followed by a delicious dinner paired with a curated wine tasting.
Day 4 (Friday, 29 May)
After breakfast, we visit Délices des Abeilles in Gouzon, a charming artisanal workshop where traditional nougat is handcrafted with care using local honey. During our visit, we discover the fascinating process of nougat production, from the careful selection of ingredients to the slow cooking and shaping of this classic French confection. After learning about the techniques and traditions behind their creations, we enjoy a delightful nougat tasting. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant. After lunch, we head to the Priory garden at Notre Dame d’Orsan. This historic estate, founded in the 12th century, was once an important place of pilgrimage. The garden retains its tranquil, contemplative layout, thoughtfully designed to evoke a sense of peace and reflection. We’ll spend time wandering through this enchanting sanctuary, a true haven of beauty and serenity. You'll also have the opportunity to browse their exquisite garden boutique, which offers a carefully curated selection of elegant accessories and unique gifts inspired by the natural surroundings. Le Prieuré d’Orsan is the inspiration behind the renowned Babylonstoren gardens in South Africa. The same garden architect was responsible for the design of both properties. Later, we return to La Creuzette, and this evening we meet for champagne in the garden, followed by a special dining experience in the La Creuzette cellar.

Day 5 (Saturday, 30 May)
After breakfast, we wonder over to Kate Hohné’s beautiful countryside home. This morning, we enjoy a relaxed, hands-on French cooking class in Kate’s kitchen. This “cooking together” session focuses on homestyle cuisine and traditional local dishes, using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Once our dishes are prepared, we enjoy a leisurely lunch on her terrasse, overlooking the magnificent Château de Boussac. In the afternoon, we return to La Creuzette where we are welcomed by our local pâtissier Philippe Vacheyroux for an immersive pastry-making experience. A Paris-trained artisan with over 30 years at the helm of his Boulangerie in Boussac, Philippe is truly the hidden gem of our town, known for crafting some of the most exquisite pastries in the region. Following the session, we indulge in the sweet creations we've made, accompanied by a lovely cup of coffee or tea. Take some time to relax and unwind before we reconvene for evening cocktails in the garden, followed by a delightful dinner.

Day 6 (Sunday, 31 May)
After breakfast, we set off to explore a brocante market in a nearby village. These much-loved French flea markets are a highlight of summer in the countryside, offering a treasure trove of vintage finds and curiosities. Stalls brim with characterful items, from crystal glassware and antique silver cutlery to beautifully embroidered linen napkins, proving that the saying “one person’s trash is another’s treasure” truly comes to life here. Lunch today will be at your own leisure and expense, with a variety of tempting options available from the market’s many food stalls, perfect for choosing something that suits your taste. We return to La Creuzette in the afternoon, where you will have some time to relax and begin packing. This evening, we meet for our farewell dinner, a special celebration served in the garden in front of the summerhouse kitchen, bringing a memorable close to your time with us.
