Itinerary
Day 1 (Saturday, 27 July)
Arrive in Paris in the early morning where you are welcomed at Charles de Gaulle airport and escorted to your hotel in central Paris. We enjoy a quick cup of coffee and croissant before we embark on our morning shopping adventure at les soldes (summer sales). Louis and Jo-Ann will be your knowledgeable guides as we navigate the famous fashion boutiques and department stores. Lunch is a quick plate de jour at one of the many delightful bistros and then we continue our shopping. Later, we head back to our hotel to drop off our shopping bags and to have a few relaxing minutes before we meet for a glass of champagne. Tonight we will dine at Restaurant Le Procope, one of the oldest restaurants in Paris.
Day 2 (Sunday, 28 July)
After breakfast, we spend the morning doing last minute shopping in Rue de Rivoli and the rest of the Marais. We enjoy lunch in the city before we collect our luggage from the hotel and drive to La Vallée Village just outside Paris. This wholesale shopping centre stocks all brand names at discount prices, and is one of Paris’s best-kept secrets. Later, we continue to La Creuzette and en-route we stop for dinner at the famous l’Escale Village. We arrive at our destination in time for a nightcap and a good night’s sleep in the peaceful French countryside.
Day 3 (Monday, 29 July)
Breakfast will be served in the main dining room at 09:00. After breakfast, we take a short walk to the 11th century Chateau de Boussac. This gothic castle (privately owned) is filled with an incredible collection of antiques and beautiful tapestries. We may have an opportunity to see the owners’ private apartments, which are not usually open to the general public. We explore the rest of the village and its interesting history. Lunch will be enjoyed in the garden at La Creuzette. After lunch, we can relax for a few minutes before we meet in the kitchen for a hands-on cooking session. We meet in the dining room of the summerhouse at 19h30 for a glass of champagne followed by dinner.
Day 4 (Tuesday, 30 July)
After breakfast, we venture into nearby Montlucon to walk through the old part of the city and shop anything from wonderful tablecloths and kitchenware to perfume, clothes, etc. We visit our wine merchant at his newly renovated tasting room for a special wine tasting and a traditional French lunch. Later, we return to La Creuzette where we will have some time to relax before we meet in the summer kitchen for a cooking demonstration by a guest chef. Dinner follows.
Day 5 (Wednesday, 31 July)
After breakfast, we drive to Vichy where we will spend the day shopping some of the most popular concept stores with Lynn Chaullieu Kolver, South African born who has lived and worked in Vichy for the past twenty years. We return to La Creuzette where you will have some time to pack, before we meet for drinks, followed by our farewell dinner.

Day 6 (Thursday, 1 August)
After breakfast, we take a walk to our village’s weekly market. We meander through the colourful market stalls that are laden with fresh fruit and vegetables, fragrant soap from Marseilles and other artisanal products from the region.
