Overview

Share the uniqueness of the La Creuzette experience with someone special. It is difficult to explain the magic that happens at this very special place in only words and snapshots, thus the idea of the La France Magnifique program, that includes all the highlights of what a La Creuzette Holiday has to offer, came to be. Bring the special person to experience the La Creuzette magic first hand! We start in Paris where we spend a day and a half shopping at the Paris Maison et Objet Décor and trend fair. We also visit RUNGIS, the world’s biggest food market, before continuing on to La Creuzette which will be our base for the rest of the wonderful week.

Your guide accompanies you at the Maison et Objet decorating fair for the rest of the day. Lunch is at leisure at one of the stalls at the fair. At 18h00, we return to our hotel. We meet for a glass of champagne and an early dinner in the hotel’s restaurant.

Day 2 (Tuesday, 11 September)

After breakfast, we return to the Maison et Objet decorating fair. The final day at Maison et Objet will be spent finalizing your orders and also to purchase available stock. We collect all the purchased products once the exhibitors start packing up at 15:00. We return to our hotel where we have some time to relax before we meet for an early dinner.

Day 3 (Wednesday, 12 September)

Today we have an early start and already load all luggage and depart for our excursion at 05h00. We visit the Marché International de Rungis, which is one of the largest wholesale food markets in the world. We visit and meet some producers of exceptional produce. Breakfast will be enjoyed at the market. We begin our trip to La Creuzette at 09h00. En-route, we stop for lunch at the famous l'Escale truck-stop. You arrive at your destination in time for tea, coffee and mignardises (typically French confectionaries). Take time to settle in, relax and explore the estate. We meet in the dining room of the summerhouse at 19h30 for champagne followed by dinner prepared by your hosts.

Day 4 (Thursday, 13 September)

Market morning in Boussac. Breakfast will be served at 09:00 in the main dining room. After breakfast, we meander through the colourful market stalls that are laden with fresh fruit and vegetables, fragrant soap from Marseilles and other artisanal products from the region. Here we find inspiration for our lunch menu. Using the fresh ingredients selected at the market, lunch will be prepared and enjoyed at the long stone table in front of the La Creuzette summer kitchen. After lunch, we meet Rob, our English guide, who will take us on an interesting walk through medieval Boussac. We conclude the day’s activity with a visit to the 11th century Château de Boussac (Boussac Castle). The château is filled with superb antiques and tapestries. We return to La Creuzette for a cooking demonstration, followed by dinner.

Day 5 (Friday, 14 September)

Today’s excursion is to Limoges – the porcelain capital of France. Our first stop is at the National Porcelain Museum with its fabulous exhibition of ceramic and porcelain dating back several centuries. There are also antique glass and enamel works in the collection. Lunch is enjoyed at a local bistro in town and thereafter we visit one of the contemporary porcelain manufacturers. We will also visit another Limoges manufacturer where one can purchase affordable porcelain, before returning to La Creuzette. As the sun sets, we enjoy cocktails and a French-style barbeque.

Day 6 (Saturday, 15 September)

After breakfast, we take the short drive to the picturesque village of Aubusson where tapestries and carpets have been woven and restored for centuries. Our first visit is the new Cité de la Tapisserie where superb collections of ancient and contemporary tapestries are uniquely displayed. It also showcases every aspect of the manufacturing process. We enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants on the banks of the river and visit a master weaver’s studio, the carton (tapestry pattern) museum and a restorer of antique masterpieces. We return to La Creuzette where you will have time to pack before we meet for drinks. Our farewell dinner follows.
