What if you gave your wishes and ideas a little space…
and surround yourself with what is historic, yet beautiful…
Visit ancient Abbeys, parks and spectacular gardens, or take the Aubusson tapestry route, see magnificent chateaux and historical mansions….
You will find it all - and more, right here in the Creuse – the Limousin Region’s best kept secret!

Situated in the heart of rural France, in a tranquil 15th century village named Boussac with it’s colourful history and beautiful old buildings that decorate the medieval part of the town... It is here that you will find the chateau de la Creuzette,  a Napoleon III style country house, set in its walled park with beautifully landscaped gardens.

Previously known as the fortified city of la Marche, Boussac and it’s surrounding area has numerous sites worth seeing and there are excellent walking and cycling trails around the village and along the Petit Creuse river, that runs through it.

Whilst it remains a private residence, the new owners welcome visitors who wish to attend the cooking, art and other workshops that are presented in this relaxing environment. Louis Jansen van Vuuren, an art educator who taught at the Universities of Cape Town and Stellenbosch for many years, personally conducts the art component of the tours whilst guest chefs work with your hosts during the cookery courses that are presented five times per year during spring, summer and autumn.

It is possible to create custom made la Creuzette holidays for small groups of  eight to twelve guests, to take advantage of the beautiful and bountiful environment that includes one or all of the following:
- Important Brocantes (Antique  Markets)  and Gourmet festivals
- Chopin music festival in the nearby Valée Noir,
- Aubusson / Felletin tapestry route
- Magnificent chateau and historic homes of the Limousin
- Peaceful pleasures such as fishing, walking or cycling
- Breathtaking landscapes, parks and gardens
- Outstanding churches and Abbeys – including fine Romanesque architecture along the pilgrim roads to St Jacques de Compostela
